About
Our Story
LLV SUP Club was founded by Josh Metz, who has owned and operated Lake Las Vegas Water Sports for more than a decade. For ten years, Josh has watched this lake in every light, at every hour, through every season, and has built his life's work around a simple belief: that there are few places as quietly extraordinary as Lake Las Vegas, and fewer still that reward the people who take the time to know them well.
His background is in hospitality, an industry built on a single idea: that the details people never see are the ones that matter most. That instinct, honed over years spent creating experiences for others, eventually turned inward, toward a question that had been forming for a long time. What would it look like to build something not for everyone, but for the few who genuinely belong on this water? Not a rental, not a day pass, not a transaction, but a standing place in a community built around the lake itself.
LLV SUP Club is the answer to that question. It operates as an independent extension of Lake Las Vegas Water Sports, drawing on the operational excellence, safety standards, and decade of on-water expertise the company was built on, while existing as its own distinct entity entirely. It is not simply a membership tier bolted onto a rental business. It is a separate and deliberate creation, a private club in the truest sense, built from the ground up around the idea of exclusivity, standards, and genuine belonging.
Membership
Membership is intentionally small. Seats are limited by design, not as a marketing device, but because the character of a club is inseparable from the size of it. A community of a dozen or so people who paddle the same waters, recognize each other on the dock, and share a standing dinner once a year is an entirely different thing than an open list of names. Josh built LLV SUP Club to be the former: a tight, considered circle of people who understand what it means to have a place like Lake Las Vegas to call home, and who want to experience it not as visitors, but as members of something ongoing.
Every detail of the club, from the private paddles to the seasonal dinner, from the sunrise sessions to the nighttime glow paddle beneath the lights of the lake, reflects the same philosophy that has guided Josh's work since the beginning: that the best experiences are rarely the loudest ones. They are the ones built quietly, carefully, and with real intention, for people who will actually notice the difference.
This is not a club for everyone. It was never meant to be. It is a club for the people who already understand, in some quiet way, exactly why it exists.
"This is not a membership you renew out of habit. It is one you look forward to, every single season."
